[identity profile] familyguez.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
My husband and I have one daughter, her name is Aida (Ade-uh) Samantha Jane. We are talking about having more children, and since my entire first pregnancy was spent stressing over names, I figured I better get a move on,... This could take a very long time!

Regardless of the next baby's gender, his/her middle name will be Emery Lee/Leigh. Any suggestions for boy names would be spectatular as we've got nothing, the only names I sort of like are pretty high up on the popularity list and I try to stay away from that.

So for Aida's potential sister, we're thinking;

Dina
Mina
Mira (Meer-uh)

We both seem to bre gravitating toward Dina. But I adore Mina as well. And Mira is what I had picked out before but now I'm not as crazy about it anymore.

What do you think Aida & _ _ _ _ ?
And any suggestions for boy names, preferably short, like 4 letters, and not a popular name. Other than that I'm open to anything.

Thanks!

Ha, my parents called me Mina in the womb once they found out I was a girl. Sometimes I'm a little sad their minds changed because I love that name.

So my vote goes to Mina :P

Aida is such a cute name. I like Mira with it, too. I'm not a fan of Dina and Mina.

I think they all go pretty well with Aida and are all pretty nice names. I think Mira may just edge out the others as the best match though. Although, now that I think about it, the others flow better with Emery Leigh. I like Mina best with that under consideration.

4 letter boy's names are tough! I searched one syllable names to find short ones. Here are some of the better ones I found.
Beau, Beck, Boyd, Brad, Bram, Cade, Cain, Cash, Chad, Clay, Cole, Dane, Dave, Dean, Del(l), Doug, Drew, Finn, Gabe, Gage, Gale, Glen(n), Greg, Grey, Hugh, Jack, John, Josh, Joss, Jude, Kent, Kirk, Knox, Kyle, Lane, Luke, Nate, Neil, Paul, Rafe, Reed/Reid, Ross, Sage, Sean, Shea/Shay, Tate, Zach/Zack, Zane, Zeke

Other short names:
Birch, Boone, Brent, Brett, Burke, Clark, Clint, Grant, Heath, James, Job, Jules, Kai, Max, Miles, Piers, Quinn, Scott

Ha, I actually like Mira best! Not really a fan of Mina or Dina, but I do like Mina much better.

One four syllable name that popped into my head and that hasn't been mentioned yet is Boaz (http://www.behindthename.com/name/boaz).

I think Dina (pronounced die-nah) is super cute with Aida. The others don't seem to match to me. LIke, Aida is so wise and grounded while Mina and Mira are more cutesy/mysterious (I think little dark haired gypsies, lol).

Whoa. This whole time I thought you were pronouncing Aida like Aïda, as in the opera: ah-EE-da.

I think Aida and Dina (Dee-nuh) are kind of awkward together, because they sound too similar. I think Mina is okay but I like Aida and Mira the best.

I like Mira the best. Kids can be really mean, so I think that if you chose Dina her nickname would be Dinosaur. :/

I'm not a fan of any of them, but...I'm going to go with Mira.
