Santana - reminds me of the show GLEE.

lol, maybe we SHOULD name some kiddos together - it's good to know my taste isn't so far out after all lol

Demetri, I realize, is usually a male name but if you can't tell, I don't let those strict guidelines decide much for me. I have a hard time with seeing genderized boundaries in all aspects of life, names included :) This name fell in the girl category for me because my mom's name is Damita, and Demetri seems like a more normal variation as a nod to my mom, if I were to use it.

Yea, we have a very hard time finding girl names we agree on, but we have MANY boy names we love. It seems to go that way for a lot of couples; one gender is easier to pick a name for mutually.

And I can't really remember where we found the name Carina [Cuh-REE-nah] but I think the spelling Corina was also suggested, and Corrina [sp?] is similar which is prn'd differently - Cor-IN-uh.

Hm, that must be it. I always pronounced Corina and Corrina like Cuh-REE-nah. I prefer both of those to Carina, but if Corrina is pronounced differently, I think Corina is gorgeous. I love the way it sounds.

My mom's name is Corinna and it has always been pronounced the same as Corina in the USA. We are originally from Germany however, and there it is pronounced more like Cor-INN-uh

The only one I don't particularly like is Santana, as it will forever be associated with the singer/guitarist for me. I like his music, but that makes it seem an odd choice for a little girl to me.

Yea, Santana is only being bounced around as a fun mn possibility. In reality, my wife still has her strict favorites for boy and girl and since I've posted those so many times - Levi Daisy(f)/Canyon Asher(m) - I decided to nix them from the list of new names we'd been introduced onto our ongoing lists. We'll probably play with name ideas for the better part of the next year so I figure, why not keep trying on new suggestions? lol

I think Carina is my favorite of the girl names you listed (my SIL spells it Corina).

I love Nathaniel, love Calvin (and the nn Cal), but I'm no fan of Julian. Asher is nice, but becoming more and more popular (don't know if that affects your choice at all).

I like Phoenix, but it feels too common... and I am not WOW SUPER FAN of AZ (never been there).

I love Ezra, but for a girl -- we named our daughter Ezra.

I think Coy is sort of a disaster for a girl, to be honest -- it sounds nice, but because of the meaning it's hart to carry.
