Random Name

I released a young man from placement today and thought I would share his daughter's name with everyone - she's a beautiful baby and I'm proud to say, reasonably well named (and her parents are 15 and 16):

Nataly Vanessa (Vanessa is mom's mn). The spelling bugged me for a minute, but I got over it, just exchanged the ie for a y.

She was almost an Ashley at the last moment, but I'm glad they kept Nataly.

Pretty. :) I like Natalie SO much better than Ashley. The spelling is meh but not totally crazy so that's good. I really like Vanessa as a mn too.

This.

Aw, that's pretty. She can go by Aly, too, if Nataly isn't her thing when she gets older.

that is cute, hate that they changed the ie for a y but I can get over that too since they do it in Spanish all the time.

that is why then since Natalie for Spanish speakers would be Nuh-tuh-lee-eh hee hee. I have a cousin names Valery because her dad didn't want anyone using the ee-eh ending ever so he just swapped it to a y.

Since I know the correct spelling is Valerie and Natalie, the -y just makes me go 'eck' but oh well, now you know why they did it xD

I hope Child will enjoy spending her whole life correcting and recorrectly and spelling and respelling...

Eh, could be worse.

I really like Natalie. :) The Nataly spelling doesn't bug me TOO much - it just looks very Hispanic to me. It doesn't make the name unrecognizable or anything. I'm pretty sure I've seen that spelling before. Vanessa is nice, too.

Reading about the Spanish reason behind it, I can get over it. It will suck that she will have to say "Natalie - with a Y" every time, though.

I don't like Vanessa at all, but it's a good name! Good for them =).

And spelling your name for people really isn't as horrific as people make it out to be =\

Agreed. I'm always "Giulia- G-I-U-L-I-A," and it doesn't bother me in the least.
