-have you ever seen leonard pronounced the way it's spelled?  leo-nard, not lennerd?

-two sisters came into work the other day named jordan (18) and foster (21).  y/n?

This.

Lisle sounds like you're trying too hard.

If I saw Lisle on its own (like, not attached to Carlisle) I would want to pronounce it like Liesl.

I'd like Foster on a boy.

Lyle. I've never seen it spelled Lisle, actually. Makes me want to say Lizzle.

No, I've never heard it pronounced any way other than lennerd.

Jordan is okay, Foster is not.

As in, Car-? -lisle.

No.

I hate the name Jordan on a girl, sorry. And Foster is just plain strange.

-Lyle.
-Yes.
-I used to like Jordan- when I was little and it was seldom used (and even then, only on boys). Foster? =( I don't like it in general, but I think it's especially bad on a girl.

To me, Lyle is the human name, whereas Lisle is a western suburb of Chicago (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisle,_Illinois).

I've never seen Leonard pronounced any other way--just "Lennerd." The only time the pronunciation is exactly like the spelling is when it's Leonardo.

The very first Jordan I ever met was a girl, so I'm used to it as a unisex name. Foster, not so much. I think of the beer...
