Wdyt?

Bethany Josephine

Does it matter that this potential child's initials would be BJS?

Other middle names that go well with Bethany?

It matters more if you or your close family/friends would be likely to actually call her BJ. That would be terrible for a child, in my opinion. I narrowly escaped being named Belinda Jean and I was to be called BJ. Middle school was bad enough without having to deal with that added torture. If the middle name would hardly be known to anyone, then it's not that big of a deal.

I like the name, but I did notice the initials before you even asked the question. As nice as it is, I would probably avoid it because the the BJ thing. What about reversing the names? Josephine Bethany?

My pattern has been to put a one-syllable middle with my three-syllable firsts.

Then again, if you're looking for a three-syllable middle...
Margaret
Theresa
Genevieve
Katherine

I like it, I wouldn't really notice it much. & fwiw, I grew up knowing three boys who were called BJ & a girl. I don't remember that being *that* big of a deal. I am a monogram addict though & BSJ would be my preferred method.

My best friend is called Bethany Jean and has never had any problem with her initials, we're 18 and at a school made up of mostly boys and it's still never been an issue.
