Well, I assumed it wasn't pronounced the same as the English semen, but still, if you speak English, I'm not sure how you'd choose that name without thinking twice.

There is also a hockey player whos last name is Satan. Not prned like the devil, but it always made me giggle. It actually started a game in my house - we would take people's last names and come up with the most outrageous (but still at least quasi legitimate) prns of everyone's names. It was hilarious....well, we were in college....lots of things were funny....we didn't have bills and mortgages and careers LOL!

Yes! I love Satan. He played for the Sabres (I'm from Buffalo) and I always wanted his jersey just so I could wear it to church sometime. I keep waiting for him to play for the Devils. Hee hee.

my fiance is russian and his last name is Semenchuk. it is pronouned se-MEN-chuck, but everyone says semen when they read it.... oh our poor future children

My dad is John Thomas, which is an old slang term for "penis" in the UK. :X It's just wrong in so many ways. Luckily, we're from the US.

I used to have a babysitter named Joke, pronounced Yo-ka - she was Dutch, but as a kid that cracked me up.

Also, I fell in love with Tayelet, which is a place in Israel. Turns out, it means "boardwalk." I was deeply encouraged not to use it as a name. :(
