I work at a summer program at an elementary school and have come across the following...unique names. Discuss.
*these three are all girls, by the way
Lyric (Leer-ick)
Camera (Cam-er-uh)
Kahlan (Kay-lawn)

Honestly I don't like any of them.

There was a Kahlan (or Kahlen maybe?) on America's Next Top Model a few seasons ago. It's ok.
Camera seems weird to me.

i have noticed that this community enjoys the punchy, snarky, "let's see what new and funny way i can come up with to say NMS" kind of comments. it's a little jarring at first!

YAY!!!
Okay, sorry, but I've gotten flak for it, and I'm just happy to see that someone else has used it. It's on my list, minus the E, and I LOVE IT. I have a deep connection to photography, and it's a real consideration for someday.
Yay. Totally made my day.
Lyric is also on my list. Kahlan, eww.

I know a boy with the name so I think I like it better for a boy. He's probably around 2 now.
I also found: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kahlan_Amnell

I think Lyric is pretty, I never heard of anyone named Lyric. Kahlan is unique, I like it for somebody else, but I wouldn't use that name.

Camera.. as in like KODAK? No. =/
And the last one is just a bit too out there for me.. I wouldn't even have the first inkling of how to pronounce it if you hadn't put that there.

I dislike Lyric and Camera, although Camera seems like you could say it with a Spanish accent it maybe it wouldn't sound so bad.
