I'm planning on changing my name. Not going into what it was before because I'm getting tired of people going 'aww, but it's cute! it's just right for you!' I do not feel it is, which is what is important. Ahem. Anyway. *brushes peeve off shoulder*
First name is Charlotte, which is after several Welsh grandmothers going on back. Rhys is surname because Charlotte Rhys sounds nice. It originally was going to be my middle name, but it worked out better as a surname.
Now what I don't know is a middle name! I don't know if I want to use another family name, or just pick out something random that sounds pretty. For family names I like Martha (a great grandmother on one side, a great-great grandmother on the other), Elaine (my grandmother's middle name) or Catherine (which pops up all over the place on both sides, but with different spellings).
Any thoughts? I'm thinking more, not traditional necessarily, but more timeless names from the Isles, which is where all my family is from. Not too girly or feminine, but not cutesy, either.
... uh, thanks!

Date: 2010-03-15 10:12 pm (UTC)I like Charlotte Elaine best of your family names, but Charlotte Martha is nice too. I think Charlotte and Catherine look a bit too similar.
I think a 3 syllable name would sound nice. Also, Charlotte is the feminine form of Charles, so perhaps
Charlotte Bernadette
Charlotte Alexandra (although then your initials would be CAR)
Charlotte Dominique
Charlotte Elizabeth
Charlotte Eloise
Charlotte Eveline
Charlotte Gwendolen
Charlotte Helena
Charlotte Isabelle
Charlotte Madeline
Charlotte Rosalie
Good luck in finding your name!
