A challenge
Mar. 12th, 2010 09:00 amI'm trying to help a friend come up with a three-syllable baby girl name that starts with J. The thing is, we've gone through name lists and can't find one he likes, so I've been wondering if I could find a rare name that wasn't on any of those lists, or even a made up one that sounds nice. Any suggestions?
TIA!
ETA: Thanks so much for all the suggestions! They're probably naming her Jenevieve.

Does it really have to be J, or also the J sound (aka G names)? Because Geneva and Genevieve are nice too...she could even butcher them and make them into J names, but that's pretty ugly ;)

I'd be curious about why he wants specifically a 3 syllable J name when he doesn't seem to like any of them.
Totally made up names that I made up by playing a sort of prefix/suffix game with myself...

I have seen all of these in real life. The 's' in Josina has an actual 's' sound like in Josephine, not a borderline 'z' sound like in Josie.
Some other ones I just made up:
Jeanetta
Janaea
Janina
Jazella
Jessaly/Jessalie/Jessalee
Jolena

You could always hyphen a name if you're into that (eg Jenna-Lee, Joelle-Mae)
or just go with Jessica :D
