[identity profile] marciaelena.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

I'm trying to help a friend come up with a three-syllable baby girl name that starts with J. The thing is, we've gone through name lists and can't find one he likes, so I've been wondering if I could find a rare name that wasn't on any of those lists, or even a made up one that sounds nice. Any suggestions?

TIA!

ETA: Thanks so much for all the suggestions! They're probably naming her Jenevieve.

I think there's a good chance you've already mentioned these, but I'll try anyway:

Jillian
Juliet/Julia/Julianne
Josephine
Johanna
Jeliza
Jacintha
Jocelyn
Jacqueline
Jamila/Jamilla
Jemima
Jessica
Jonina
Jovana
Juniper

Does it really have to be J, or also the J sound (aka G names)? Because Geneva and Genevieve are nice too...she could even butcher them and make them into J names, but that's pretty ugly ;)

Jemima
Jenevieve
Jovana
Jesabel
Jocelina
Joelliana
JonBenet
Josalind
Josephina
Josetta
Jovita
Jubilee
Julietta (its 4 syllables)

Juliet
Josephine
Jacinda
Jacoba
Jadwiga
Jadzia
Jelena
Jelica
Jenessa
Jerusha
Jessamine / Jessamyn
Judyta
Juniper
Justyna
Juturna
Juvela

those were all "real" names

I'd be curious about why he wants specifically a 3 syllable J name when he doesn't seem to like any of them.

Totally made up names that I made up by playing a sort of prefix/suffix game with myself...
Jewella
Jocindy
Jenisty
Junidy
Jenkayla

I'm a Jerrica! My parents changed the spelling, but that's what it's from. Lordy.

Josina
Jescelia
Joellyn
Jessany
Janessa
Julieanne
Julitta
Jenilee (literally Jenny Lee)
Jennica
Jelena

I have seen all of these in real life. The 's' in Josina has an actual 's' sound like in Josephine, not a borderline 'z' sound like in Josie.

Some other ones I just made up:
Jeanetta
Janaea
Janina
Jazella
Jessaly/Jessalie/Jessalee
Jolena

My name is Julianne, so I want to suggest it again, even though everyone else did :P

Um, I used to work with a girl named Jenica. It's different, but I think it sounds nice. :)

Jasnita
Jemimah

You could always hyphen a name if you're into that (eg Jenna-Lee, Joelle-Mae)

or just go with Jessica :D
