Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart have announced the name of their newborn daughter: Billie Beatrice.

The Grey's Anatomy star, 37, and Gayheart, 38, welcomed their first bundle of joy on March 3.

What do you think? I think it's cute.

I've been wondering what her name was. I really dislike it. I don't know what it is. Billie isn't that bad; I wouldn't use it, and it sounds a tad trashy for a girl, but it's not awful. Beatrice probably peaked a hundred years ago, and for good reason. It's ugly.

If I'm not mistaken, Billie is actually a nickname for Beatrice/Beatrix. My mom had a friend named Beatrice and her nickname was Billie. So, this name seems really odd to me... like Bill William or Dick Richard. I don't think it's QUITE as odd as the comparisons I listed, but still...
