(no subject)

Have the TV on Nick, a female contestant on a game show is named Syd.

WDYT?

I think it's horrible. Horrible for a boy, but on a girl? UGH.

i know a couple of teenage girls named sid/syd, which is a nickname for sidney/sydney

Some people just mostly go by a nickname. For instance, my husband (Albert) goes by Ted and hardly anyone even knows his name is Albert. However, lots of people call me Mer, but I would never even introduce myself as such.

Syd itself would be awful. If it's short of Sydney, which I love, it's not so bad (still wouldn't use it as a nickname, though).

i know a syd, but it's her nickname, short for sydney.

I think it might be short for Sydney as well.

It's probably short for Sydney.
