Word Names

What are your favorite word names (or for the anti word name folks, what names do you hate the least lol)? 99% of the time I like word names to be spelled just like the dictionary - Skye being the only exception I can think of right now. Thoughts? Worst butchering of a word name you've seen? I think the worst I've seen was J'aeh De (Jade, really, its supposed to be Jade lol)

I don't like word names like Precious or Unique or Charity. Nature word names I like but wouldn't use like Sky or Ocean.

I can't even think of butchered names right now, I know I've seen some bad ones, maybe I blocked them out. haha

My favorite I guess would be Luna. I hadn't really thought of it as a word name for some reason, but it is one.

A lot (maybe most) of my favourite names are word names, so:

Beau
Bright
Dean
Gray
Hunter
Royal
Scout
Cash

Olive
Tuesday
Poppy
Savanna(h)
Saxon
Daisy
Ruby
Cricket
Hazel
Summer
June
Bijou
Cadence
Eden
Kiwi
Penny
Iris
Patience

And if place names count as word names, I've got a bunch more of them too.

I haven't seen too many butchering of word names that I can think of. I know a Christal, which I think looks really weird but it's not horrible. It's no J'aeh De, lol. I think if people are going to use a word for a name, they should use a dictionary-accepted version of it.

Sage is obviously my most favourite; but really I like lots of word names, mostly virtue and botanical ones. My last starts with Ing- though, so that limits me a bit.

On my current short list ...
Autumn, Harp (as a nn for Harper), Iris, June, Juniper, Lily, Sequoia.
August, Banyan, Cash, Indigo, River, Rowan

I'm totally anti-creative spellings and superfluous vowels; but Skye has never bothered me. It's a place/name in its own right, rather than necessarily a rift on the word.

Harper
Heath

Hazel
Holly
Magnolia
Violet
Willow

I can't think of any butcherings. I think I try to block names that I really don't like from my memory, lol.

The onnnnly one I can think of right now is Canyon, which I don't like. I'm sure there are tons of others that I do and don't like, though! It's been a long day haha.

I like a bunch of word names I love because I love nature names bu taking a word and misspelling it just because you're calling it a 'name' is... pathetic. To me anyway...

I like most flower names quite a bit. Especially Iris and Lily (but just one l, please).

I'm not a big fan of virtue names in general, but Felicity is the one exception. I ADORE Felicity.

Scarlet and Jade and other color/stone names are guilty pleasures for me!

I don't tend to like word names on boys... I'm not sure why.

Skye isn't a butchering, it's a Scottish island.
