My sister is having a baby girl in June and we have been discussing names for months! We're really into unusual names that are not too out there. We like the kind of names where you say... Oh, that's unusual but still acceptable in today's society.

The biggest issue we've run into in the naming process is the fact that my sister lives in Honduras. She wants a name as acceptable in the U.S. as in Honduras. Her first choice was Natalia for a long time -it had always been one of her favorite names. She also wanted Chloe -a choice that would not work due to pronunciation issues in Honduras.

So right now we're going with Giana. Her potential full name would be Giana Camille Simon (pronouced SEE-Moan). What do you think? If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them! Also, what are some other middle names that would go well with Giana?

I like Natalia much more than Giana, but Giana Camille Simon is nice.

I don't really know Honduras well so I can't really be a good judge as to what names would be acceptable thre AND in the United States, sorry.

i have a june baby..well shes 14 now and i always regret not naming her June. my great grandma was named June as well. so i am going to toss JUNE out there tho the name your sister has chosen is lovely

My sister decided against Natalia because apparently the name is becoming somewhat of a fad in Honduras. One of her friends just had a baby named Natalia and she knows several in passing... too many for her liking haha!

I love month names, though I don't know how my sister feels about them. She's completely obsessed with Giana at the moment. It's Italian, which she likes too.

Giana as in Gee-ANNA or Hee-ANNA? and well... it's not a name I like but I also don't like Natalia.

Oh, Aurora and Eva were both considered! Eva was our Great-grandmother's name and the reason why we decided against it is because in spanish Eva is like the english Eve, as in Adam and Eve. While that isn't necessarily a bad thing, it wasn't something we wanted a reference to.

I think I like the spelling of Ava more than Eva... The pronunciation would end up bringing up the same image of Eve in a lot of people's heads, unfortunately. Love the name.. maybe I'll use it myself. ;]

I love Giana and the whole name combo is great, though Simon is likely to be mispronounced in the U.S., but then it's a second middle name so probably not a major issue. Not a fan of Natalia, so I'm glad she changed it.

Doesn't Simon need an E at the end to be Simone? I don't like Natalia or Giana. When I quickly glanced at the post all I saw was Camille Simon, I like just that.
