babynamesSo I'm sure everybody here already knows this about each other, but I'm new, and I'm bored, and I want to know your name.
Mine is Laura Lynn. My parents named me Laura Lynn and called me that for a while, then it got shortened to Laura when I started school, and now in some circles it's Laura and in others it's Laura Lynn. I prefer Laura Lynn; I'd rather not think about my name in separate parts, because then I hate my boring-ass middle name. If I think of it as one name, then I think, "Aw, how cute and alliterative."

My husband doesnt call me Krysttal, since we met, he's always called me Jem. Like Gem only he spelled it with a J, lol...like the cartoon...hehe.
Anne is my gramas middle name, Isabel Anne and my moms middle name, beverley anne agnes, aswell. I will NOT give my kids the middle name Anne, so plain for me!

Lynn is from my mother's maiden name.

Date: 2006-07-04 05:45 pm (UTC)I always hated Sheilah, because Ms. Princess of Power Slut came out when I was in kindergarten. Everyone called me SheRa and it was very annoying.
It's spelled the way it is because our last name starts with O, and my mom didn't like the way two vowels looked next to each other - she thought it looked more 'finished' with the H on the end. Also, F. Scott Fitzgerald's mistress spelled it that way, which is where she got the idea. Rock on.
Cathleen is for my aunt, Catherine. My mom switched it over to Cathleen to match my sisters' middle names - Eileen and Maureen. She's truly a sick individual.

chosen name: Lorelei (Adrienne?) Black
Lorelei = best name evar. i'm obsessed with faeries and related mythology, and found the name six years ago in a faerie book and adopted it. i've also heard it means 'destruction.' hells yes. only thing is that people started calling me Lori, and i've gotten most people out of the habit (i let very close friends use it in conversation with me, but they know to call me Lorelei in all other cases lol). i decided if anyone wants to use a nickname that they can use Lola sparingly. :P
Adrienne = i've always loved this name, and it means 'dark' or whatever, which goes with my name.
Black = I ACTUALLY STARTED USING THIS SURNAME BECAUSE OF HARRY POTTER (Sirius Black lolz) and it just stuck. :D
