I kind of like Phoenix (m).

I like Setsuna on [Japanese] males. The only Setsuna I've ever met was a Japanese male; also, in anime/manga, I've only seen Setsuna on boys. (Though, I'm sure there are female characters using the name somewhere.)

I saw Setsuna on babynameguide.com, and I thought it was really pretty. They have it listed as a female name that means 'calm snow.' I like it a lot as a middle name, but I can see how it is easily female or male.

Emerson (m) - LOVE this. Classic and rugged.
Eamon (m) - indifferent too.
Dierdre (f) - hate it. It is too trendy like, mid 90s trendy.I wouldn't use it.
Corrigan (u) - I don't mind it, but I haven't given using it much thought. Maybe for a Sim?
Cliff (m) - I love this name, but I would want to use i as a nickname for something longer.

Quinlyn (f) - Only heard this name on a guy, my college roommate dated a guy named Quinlin.

Emerson (m) -- I have good associations with this via the Amelia Peabody books.

Eamon (m)-- I guess it's not awful but it's just really awkward.

Dierdre (f)-- a little dated but still pretty.

Corrigan (u)-- one of those trying-too-hard semi-Celtic surnamey things... It would be cool on a character in a fantasy novel.

Cliff (m)-- The Cosby Show was awesome. But I'm not naming my kid after it.

Sienna (f)-- a color, yes. A crayon, yes. A child? Less so. But could be worse.

Bentley (u)-- yeah I'm totally naming my child after a car. With the possible nn Bent. That's totally going to happen.

Quinlyn (f)-- sheesh, what's wrong with just Quinn? No reason to turn it into a rhymey modern monstrosity.

Setsuna (set-SOO-nah) (f)-- my sister was an obsessive Sailor Moon fan growin up, so I associate this with Sailor... Pluto, was it? NOT a Sailor Moon fan myself, but she was one of the less ridiculous characters. I can see this being really cute on a little Japanese girl.

Lyric (f)-- not my style but I can admire it from afar.

Phoenix (u)-- trying way too hard. Makes a very awkward name.

Rhett (m)-- not an awful name, but setting the kid up for a lifetime of Gone with the Wind jokes.

Ewan (u)-- I prefer Evan. That "yoo" sound doesn't do much for me.

Isolde (f)-- too tragic, not pretty.

Trevor (m)-- I like. Uncommon but not weird.

Waylan (m)-- Country singer Waylon Jennings. And my sister's dog, named for the aforementioned. I love them both, but not the name.

Asa (m)--UGH.

Aubrey (u)--love on a girl, possibly due to knowing no less than 3 adorable girl Aubreys. Can't see it on a boy.

Ezra (m)-- just screams "old man" to me, despite me knowing a twentysomething Ezra. I just don't like it.

Everest (m)-- a little self-consciously cool, "Ooh I'm a mountain, I have lots of connotational meaning about courage and persistence, etc." Not my style but it's not awful.

Sterling (u)-- and I thought Everest was self-consciously cool. Self-consciously rich is even worse. Sorry, I'll pass on this.

Kendrick (f)--on a boy, I would dislike-not-hate it. On a girl, we go straight into Hate territory.

Tatum (f)-- I've never understood the appeal of this name. It seems very un-name-like and distinctly unfeminine to me. I think Tate is cute on a boy, but Tatum is cute on no one.
