for those not aware, drew brees, the quarterback of the superbowl champs new orleans saints has a son, who you may or may not have seen an adorable picture of, post-game with his dad.

anyway, adorable? yes. but i just learned the kids name.

baylen robert brees is his full name.

i think its awful.

bay breeze, anyone? :/

ETA: i cant believe the number of responses of people actually liking this name. i mean, the bay breeze thing was just an afterthought for me, i find the name itself atrocious and kree8yv and made up sounding and just plain ugly. wow, i am really surprised. interesting.

I like the idea of it, but, in practice, it just doesn't work. Also, he really should have remembered his last name when naming his kid.

But, maybe he's too busy reading food labels, and I totally get that.

I like the name Baylen. Not with Brees though.

Well my fiance heard of this name and instantly got excited becuase we're currently playing Dragon Age and Bhelen is a character in the game (a douchey character but still). I think it sounds ok, but I think I'd keep it as a fantasy type character name, personally. Plus, Baylen Brees sounds funky.

Baylen totally does not go with Brees well. In my opinion, it's a good name for a dog. :/ He's a really cute kid.

I actually like Baylen, just not with the last name.

Baylen is pretty cute, I think, but moreso for a girl.

That baby boy was so damn adorable though <3

It's a good thing kids don't grow up -- Oh wait.

I agree it's not the most attractive combination of a first & last name, but I doubt he will ever go by "Bay". That being said, I would never really think twice about it.

I don't really think calling it a "stupid" name is necessary. But your opinion is your opinion so whatever.

I know two children called "Baylen" and none of their parents call them Bay. Neither do the parents of the Bailey's I know. Also, I've met his parents and the Stinchcomb's (J. Stinchcomb plays alongside Brees) and none of them have ever once referred to him as "Bay". And I see the Stinchcomb's quite often considering Ali is a patient of mine, and she adores Baylen. I just really don't see it happening.

Oh, and even if they did call him "Bay" as a nickname I highly doubt anyone using his first & last name together would go "OH HAI BAY BREES". They would likely call him Baylen Brees, and no one would think twice about it.

wow, funny how a name like baylen can make even a clunker like robert look good.

Baylen sounds like bailin' to me (like the verb, 'to bail') so I don't like it at all.

Baylen sounds to me like a very weird part of the -ayden/-aylen trend. Paired with the last name of Brees, it's just that much worse.

You are not alone. It is not a good name or combo. Cute kid though.
