I was randomly looking at family tree stuff today. The Puritans definitely came up with some odd names, but I think I've found the worst:

Preserved Fish (Fish is the last name), and his wife Grizzel. Mid 1600s Rhode Island.

What's even better is that his wife's maiden name was apparently Grizzel Strange. And Preserved passed his name onto his son, too. WTF? I guess Puritans had bad senses of humor, too.

And a Preserved Fish III (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preserved_Fish), apparently, LOL. Whose father was named Thomas.
