wow. it's been a while since i've been around here (or on LJ in general i suppose)
Anyway.

No child on the way. I just have an obsession with names and putting them together.
I love browsing through the comm. and seeing everyone's names they pick. :D

anywho. like i said, I don't have a kid on the way, but I like names.. and I suppose I'm KIND of preparing for that day? *shrug*

anyway, would ya'll mind giving my list a once over, and some votes? I've been updating it recently, and would like some more opinions. :D

 

I'm also not married yet, but my boyfriend and I have been talking about it a quite a bit.. so if it helps, the tentative last name would be Sumner.

I like a lot of your boys' names, actually:
Matthew, Ian, Ethan, Brennan, Rhett, Declan, Thomas, Atticus, James
If Kennedy, Maddox, and Scott are middles, I like them as well. Kennedy or Maddox for a first name seems too trendy and I just don't know any nice people whose first names are Scott.

For girls', really the only name I like from your list is Marie, unfortunately.

yes!! i have a psycho ex named scott so that completely sways my opinion of the name, i know, but i have always hated the name and have yet to meet a nice person named scott in my life! aside from one boy in my second grade class, that is.

I liked a lot of your boy's names. I love Tristan for a boy and I really like Matthew as a middle. It's solid. I didn't actually like any of your girls names though. Elisabeth McKenna came close, but I hate, hate, hate McKenna. Tesla appeals to me in a way, but all I can think of when I hear it is Nicola Tesla, and an electric car, which kills it for me.

I found most of your girl names not girl names. Avery, Tristan, Meridan, Alistair, those are all 100% boy to me.

For the boys names I like most of them except Brecken.

Meridon as a boy's name? hmm I never made that connection, because I got it from a book.. Meridon by Phillipa Gregory. :D

hmm could be.. and while it's one of my favorite names, that's an issue i have with it..

as i've always pronounced it with a -din or -dun ending.. but most people will pronounce it with the -don ending.

orion is a huge guilty pleasure for me. if we have more than one or two boys, that would probably be our second or third sons middle name.

i like kennedy too, but on a girl and again, probably as a middle.

love quinn, on either sex. also love finn, but prefer finnegan.

love elisabeth spelled only this way :) not a fan of tristan on a girl.

im not into the avery trend, on either sex. just dont like it.

i like etta (LOVE etta james, so i am thoroughly biased) but prefer it as a nickname.
