[identity profile] k-t-bug.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I have a doctor's appointment this Thursday (at 16 weeks already!), and we might be able to find out Zyggie the Zygote's gender. If not then, then hopefully at the 20 weeks appointment.

I've tried to narrow down our name lists in preparation. My husband and I have already selected Asher Struthers for a boy's name. I know the two names both end in a "er" sound, but I'm more interested in the names having meaning than flowing perfectly. The girl's names include: Lydia, Adeline and Amelia for first names and Louisa and Alice for middle names. Apparently I really like "L" and "A" names! Mainly I like traditional, not popular or trendy, correctly spelled names that have personal meaning.

ETA: Oh, and I found the rankings on the Social Security Administration Popular Baby Names site - it's great!

i really love the fact that you are focused on meaning, i plan to do the same thing. using names that are important to my fiance and i as middle names.

i kind of like asher struthers. asher is on our short list anyway, but i dont like how popular its getting.

for your girls names, i like amelia, louisa and alice (although i know the last two are your middle name picks, i like them as firsts)

on second look, adeline is nice, and adeline louisa is really pretty.

good luck. :)

Hm, I guess if she absolutely needs a nickname, there's always Del, although with the middle syllable being the least stressed, it's the least obvious nickname. Adele, but what's the point in exchanging a lovely name (Adeline) for another lovely name (Adele)? Then there's Lina, which you could pronounce with either a long 'i' or an ee 'i.'

I agree that Adeline Louisa is quite nice.

I love Amelia so much, it's getting popular but... i love it enough to ignore that. There are SO many girls names that being 84 isnt a massive deal. I don't think Ada is too close to Ava, i'd be inclined to use Adeline with the nn Ada, its beautful, but looks like madeline without the A. I just noticed it, not it's bugging me!
