ty

Any full names with the nickname Ty that aren't Tyler or Tyrone? Over the past few days I have been thinking that I really like the nn Ty, but I don't think it stands on it's own, my cousin just named his son Tyler and Tyrone just doesn't work for me...

Any ideas?

I'm going through this. One of our considerations for our baby, due in June, is Ty. But we don't want Ty on its own, we want on paper at least, Tyler or something else.

It's the something else that is throwing us. I think we'll end up with the ever-popular Tyler anyway.

I have a cousin named Tyson that we call Ty. I like it more than Tyler.

Tiberius has loads of nerd cred. Love it.

If this baby had been a boy, we would have chosen Tiberius for a middle name! :) My husband insisted!

What if you spelled it 'Tai' and just have that be his name?

PS: There was a boy a grade ahead of me in school whose name was Ty Down. Yeahhhhh....

This. I am a teacher and last year had a Tai. This year I have a Tyrese, which could be Ty.

Nicknames evolve, change and grow... they are also given to kids by friends, classmates and at times they make them up on their own!

Sure, it's likely that a Lucia will get called Lucy but see I tend to call my good friend Lucia Lulu and her boyfriend caught on and calls her Lu and now that's just it, Lu or Lulu. She does get called Lucy sometimes but it's not as defining among her close friends.

So... I say if you REALLY like Ty, you can try and name him Ty.

A friend of mine decided to just name her son Tye (she added the supposedly so people wouldn't think it was short for anything- not sure if that's worked out or not lol)
