I grew up with a pair of twins living next door. They were born on Christmas day. Their names?

Merry and Holly.

I was born on Christmas, I guess in the hospital there was a couple with my mom who had a little girl...there last name was Smith and idk if they were joking or not but they said they were going to name her Mary Chris.

I like Holly. I would like Merry too if they used it as a nickname for Meredith.

Holly is nice but Merry is awful.

I think Holly is cute. Merry is tolerable, but being born on Christmas and THEN called Merry is a little too much, in my opinion.

They're okay names. I don't love Merry (Why not Mary? She had something to do with Christmas too...), but Holly is nice enough. I would have preferred Natalie, Noelle, or Gloria to either of those names though.

I agree with hwar. I also feel that you don't necessarily have to give a baby born on Christmas a "Christmas" name. If I liked Merry and Holly I would use them anytime. For that matter, if I liked another name I would use it, even if my baby was born on Christmas.
