I wonder if they realize that "sin" is Spanish for without.
Essentially, they're saying "I have a devil child"

I just read Sin and for a split second thought they named him Sin Wagon like the Dixie Chicks song. Sadly, Sin Halo is even worse...

I saw that and groaned, too. I love how Patty commented on the name, saying it's "unusual." Cracked me up!

Is the individual an ethnicity that would prevent them from realizing how terrible that name is for a child?
I went to high school with an Asian kid whose name was Lo Fatt, his parents moved to the US from Vietnam (I think) and weren't aware what his name translates to in English. That is the only reason I could overlook such a sad name.

I'm admittedly a geek, and that somewhat makes me think of Han Solo.

Why not just name him Supervillain and save time?

Makes me think of this (http://www.pantheon.org/articles/s/sint_holo.html), which is a fantastic thing to be named after in theory but a bloody awful name in practice :D

Lol yeah me too but it was what sprang to mind because I used it in a story (one character gave a statue of it to his partner, which led to a discussion on exactly how one sculpts an *invisible* creature lol).
