When I was younger, I knew of a set of twins boys named Allan and Allen. Their mom didn't know she was having twins until she had them (this was 35 years ago).

Can you imagine?

Did they at least have different middle names? How was she able to speak to them seperately? I mean, say she yelled out for Allen to come help her with something.. how did Allan know she wasn't talking to him? That is beyond insane. I'm sure my grandma didn't know she was having twins until she actually gave birth, but she still managed to give my mom and my aunt different names!

that's crazy. she must've been REALLY tired after her labor if she couldn't come up with 2 different names.

I know, it's amazing how back in the day they didn't know if you were having twins. Then to have a situation like this one...wow!

I actually know of the same thing happening. My friends dads mother also had twins.. one boy and one girl. Both Jamie. Not spelled differently.
