My SO and I are having twins and thinking about possible boy names.

WDYT of Theo? Can it stand alone or is it a nickname? Would it fit in a sibset with Ashton "Ash", Elle "Elsa", and Lewis/Madeleine "Maddie".

Also, would Imogen fit with the sibset? WDYT of it?

EDIT: My friends Naomi and Kieran have just had a new baby McCauley, who will join big sister Miley. Also, Charlotte and Lewis are due to have baby girl Kaya. WDYT?

Theo: It's not bad as a stand-alone, but I much prefer it as a nickname for Theodore (which I like). I think it would fit with Elle, Lewis, and Madeleine, but not so much with Ashton, which sounds more modern to me. (I think the others sound more...I don't know, classic? Elegant/sophisticated?)

Naomi: I don't like it.
Kieran: I like. It used to be my number one boy's name about two years ago.
McCauley: This name sounds weird-ugly to me...and more like a surname. And it brings to mind Macaulay Culkin, haha.
Miley: I really don't like this name; it's...kind of awkward-ugly. I'd never heard of it before Miley Cyrus, but I've been hearing it a lot more since. D: I don't think Miley and McCauley make for a very nice sib-set...
Charlotte: I like it; I think it's soft, pretty. Girly without being over-the-top frilly.
Lewis: Is okay.
Kaya: I don't like.

I don't like Theo, but I love Theodore. I think Theo wouldn't be terrible on its own, and it would be okay in that sibset because Elle is a short nicknamey name too. Otherwise it would seem the odd one out. I also think that Imogen would work very nicely, and I think that's a really pretty name.

I love Theo. I think it can be both. In fact, I think Theodore is most often shortened to Ted, so if you want Theo, I'd go with just Theo. However, either one is perfect.

It definitely fits with those names. Not a huge fan of Ashton, but I love Ash (I prefer Asher as the full name for that nickname) and I love Elsa (is Elsa the full name? Or is Elle? I'm confused) and Lewis and Madeleine.

Imogen seems like the odd man out; I also just really dislike it.

I love Naomi, and Lewis, like I said; the rest aren't really my style and eww @ McCauley and Miley.

Theo could stand alone. I agree that if you don't want the Ted thing, then go with plain Theo.

Theo - I like it, and I like it as a full name. It can be short for Theodore, which I also think fits (but less well) in the sibset.

and Lewis/Madeleine "Maddie" - I think Madeleine and Theodore are a cute twin set. Lewis is a name I have bad associations with, but otherwise it's fine.

It's Ashton that wouldn't fit into that sibset, not Theo or Imogen. I find it unfortunate that Elsa is the nickname and not Elle, because Elsa is definitely superior.

Though now that I'm actually looking at the sibset, Ashton and Elle go well together, Lewis and Madeleine are nice, but all four together look weird. Two different styles going on there, IMO. Theo and Imogen, I would say, work better with the latter.

I know someone who just named their son Theo Scott. I think Theo and Imogen sound WONDERFUL together.
