Gross. I'm okay with the following:

Adelyn
Boone - okay, okay, it's only because of LOST and I don't think I'd be okay with it in real life but mmm Ian Somerhalder
Cohen
Farah
Jaeger - I think I'd actually like this if I didn't have the super strong alcohol association
Tylee - this is odd. My friend had a baby a couple months ago and named her Serenity-Lee... due to the last 5 letters, she calls her "tylee" as a nickname. It makes sense for her, but weird as a name on its own
Zayden - not okay with this, but not surprised if I see it

there's a person on tumblr who has twin boys named Wyatt & Boone and they are the cutest boys ever. not my style, but crazy cute.

The rule appears to be
1. Pick the 50th most popular name from when you were in middle school.
2. Switch out the initial consonant.
3. ...
4. PROFIT!!

some of them are pretty cute. and my daughter's name is totes on that list. yay me, I'm trendy!

I counted eight names among them that I actually like:

Adria
Adara
Adelyn (It has finally grown on me, I admit it.)
Amaris
Cohen
Isla
Miller
Slade

Otherwise, no, thanks.

And Ayah? Really? Like what Mary Lennox called her nanny in The Secret Garden? I thought that was a way cool name, too. For a video game character. When I was twelve.

And Zaveah! Oh! I get it! It's Heavaz...um...backward...

[identity profile] b-gum.livejournal.com 2010-01-11 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Umm… maybe:
Axton
Alandra
Braelyn
Drayden/Dreydon
Lachlan

...but i don't think i've heard of any of them at al

Oh my goodness. Who would want names like that in the first place?

Isla is nice. It's gotten WAY more popular recently and I'm sure that will continue. And I kinda like Lachlan and Nevan too. I'm surprised that those two and Thatcher aren't more popular here. And at least none of them are made up like the majority of those names!

*rolls eyes* No, thank you. I wouldn't touch that list with a ten-foot pole.

Yeah, once a list recommends naming my baby Lazer I stop reading.

These ones are at least tolerable. I actually like/would use the ones with *.

Adria
Amalia
Elora
Finley (but NOT on girls)
Isla*
Lachlan
Rainer
Thatcher*

I'm kind of annoyed that Thatcher is "gaining popularity FAST" because I'd like to use it, maybe, but I don't want it to be the next, I don't know...something super trendy. I don't care if it's in the top 1000 (which it's not now), but I wouldn't want to use it if it suddenly went to the top 10 in Aidan/Jayden/Hayden-type fashion.

Those are horrible! Isla is the only one I like.

I know a girl my age named Anjali. I adore that name.

Adrielle is pretty. I don't know that I'd use it, but I do like it.

...

Oh God, the rest of these are horrible.
