Jan. 10th, 2010 02:12 pmHow do imagine someone called Leila to look? My SO and I were thinking about calling one of our twins (we don't know the sexes yet) this, but last night he started having second thoughts.
If its boys one will definately be called Lewis Jonathan. Or if girls, one will almost definately be Madeleine Sophie. WDYT?
Other first names we've considered: Harvey
James
Theo/Theodore (love the nn, but not sold on the full name)
OliverLeila (but wouldn't use if we use Lewis)Lucy (same as above)Amelia
Alice
Grace
We're not set on any of these names, so if you can suggest any others we'd be extremely grateful!
EDIT: so my question makes more sence, to cross out two names we're no longer considering and to add a name. :)
EDIT 2: If it makes a difference, the last name sounds like Harriet and begins with an A

Date: 2010-01-10 03:09 pm (UTC)i love madeleine sophie, and lily too. madeleine has left our list because of the onslaught of madisons in the world, so too many little girls being called "maddie" and i really do hate madison that much.
not really a fan of savannah. its ok, i used to like it, but it seems to have become more and more trashy recently. lewis is alright. its a different choice from the classics.
i really love the rest of the names on your list too, with the exception of harvey. i know a lot of people are mentioning it these days, i just dont see the appeal. you cant go wrong with any of your names, really.
PS: yay twins! :)

Date: 2010-01-10 07:02 pm (UTC)I have an Amelia and I think she fits her name very well, big dark eyes, blonde curly hair, light skin (which is a big thing considering I'm half black!), afraid of nothing and spunky...that's a good word. She fears nothing, and it reminds me of Amelia Earhart, obviously she didn't have many fears and was quite independent. So my vote is for Amelia as your second girl:) We have Amelia Rose Marie, I'd say Amelia Grace to take from your list. For a boy I think Oliver would sound cute with Lewis.
My name is Savanah, so it's hard for me to see it as a middle name and because it's so long and has so many syllables I'm not sure it would work with many names, it'd have to be something short and blunt, the type of name that looks like it can't stand up on it's own if that makes sense. And Lillian might be easier to use as a middle name, like Grace Lillian works but Grace Lily not as much.

Date: 2010-01-10 07:30 pm (UTC)I very much like the names on your list, especially James, Theo, Amelia, Lily and Grace. I have a niece named Lily Fay and one of my daughters middle name is Grace after my grandmother so obviously I very much like those. lol.

Date: 2010-01-11 06:14 am (UTC)I really like Lewis Jonathan but it's not really my style. Lewis Jonathan would sound lovely with Henry James.
I like the sound of Madeline Sophia and Amelia Grace together.
