Of Wylie? What gender do you think it is most suitable for? Thoughts in general?

As a given name, I think it's more suitable for a boy. As a nickname, I think it could be used on a girl, although I'm not sure what the full name would be. I don't care for it much either way.

lulz.

I think it's male. But, I like it even less than I like Riley, which I like NOT AT ALL ON ANYONE.

It was my great grandfather's name. I love it, but it does have the whole cartoon thing and sounds like Riley with a speech impediment. Oh, but I only see it on girls now lol.

Wile E. Coyote. Male. I don't like it.

I like Wiley, but Wylie looks like a trendy girl name and I dislike it.

It sounds more feminine to me. I don't like it though. It reminds me of Wyle E. Coyote or being wiley like a fox.

The definition of wile according to Google is: trickery: the use of tricks to deceive someone (usually to extract money from them)

Not a trait I'd like to name a child for, personally.

My feeling for Wylie is that it's a very friendly, cowboy type name. Definitely better on a boy. I've never gone for cowboy names myself, and it has that Very Today feel that's going to be Very Yesterday in a few years. But it's not terrible.

On the other hand, it also sounds like Riley with a lisp.

Other than the coyote it reminds me of Wylie Dufresne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wylie_Dufresne). Not a terrible association...but definitely a boy name.
