A girl who graduated two years behind me had a daughter... Mersadeez.
I seriously said "WHAT THE HELL?" out loud. This girl and I grew up in a rural, farming community, by the way. I know that name reads like a stereotypical inner city type name.

If it's meant to be pronounced the same as Mercedes, I'm not reading it that way, haha. I'm reading Mer-SUH-deez.

I'm seeing the middle syllable as 'sad' rather than 'say', but I can see where you're coming from as well. Mercedes isn't the most obvious way of saying it, that's for sure.

Yuck. Mercedes isn't too bad, although I suspect there would be a lot of 'wanna take me for a ride, baby?' jokes in her future, but that is icky. Plus it looks more like Mer-SAD-eez to me, so it does actually need a random y to make it pronouncable lol.

I don't like the spelling. Plain Mercedes would have been better, although I don't really even like that.

I used to work with an older cuban woman named Mercedes. In spanish it totally suited her, but in english.... I'd pity the poor child that girl had.
