[identity profile] chillinbabejodi.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

We've just found out we're expecting twins and we're looking for middle names. For girls we'd like to honor our mothers Angela Maria and Susan Ann "Sue"  without using their actual names. Any ideas of varients or something?

Also, would (depending on the sexes) these names fit in a sibset with Ashton "Ash" Thomas Rhys & Elle "Ellie" Shauna Abigail:

Madeleine "Maddie"
Leila
Lewis
Harvey

Boy middle names will be Jonathan and Daniel.  The twins will only have one middle name.

TIA x

I think those names fit fine in the sibset, Madeleine and Leila especially.

As far as honoring the grandparents:
Evangeline
Angeline
Angelina
Marie
Mary
Celeste ('cause, you know, heavenly...angel...yeah)

Susannah
Lily
Anna
Annabel
Hannah

(If the website I used was correct) I like Angelina, Miriam, Shoshanna and Anya the best as variants for the mother's names.

I think out of the four, Madeleine is the only one that goes with Ashton and Elle. They're a little more popular/trendy, while Madeleine is as well.

Madeleline Marie
Leila Angeline

Lewis Jonathan
Harvey Daniel

Cause Jonathan is too many syllables for Harvey

I think any of those names would fit in the sibset just fine. I love love love Harvey and Lewis together-- is that what you'd use if your twins are both boys?

I think you should directly honor people, but if you're set on indirectly doing it, I think it would be cool to use Mariangela and Susanna - both kind of kill two birds with one stone.

my sister-in-law is angela marie and they used variations on their names as their childrens middles, so her daughter is rose angelica.

i have a lot of mary/maries in my family, my favorite variation is mae.

also, i love the name susannah, so that could be a middle or first in honor of susan ann.

congrats on the twins!!!

To honor mother Susan i particularly like the name Susanah for Susie... my favorite name of all time is Janie so I like names that look and sounds like nicknames, that's why i like Susie as an official first name :) I also like the name Sukey, which is a variation of Susan, but i don't know if i'd actually use it or not.

To honor mother Angela I like the name Angie. I'm a fan of "different" spellings, so I like Ange too, but i see the potential for it to be mispronounced a lot! Angelinea, Angelynne, and Angelique are also pretty, i think :)

I really like Susannah. Angelica or Angelina could honor the other grandma...Evangeline too although it's a little extreme for my taste. Actually I have a friend named Angelee (pronounced Anj-uh-lee) so something like that is an option too.
