a local parenting magazine did a story about a local family with 10 kids. the names are a mix of normal, trendy, and craptastic spelling. don't cry too much.

it's 3 boys and 7 girls:
Brendan
Lauren
Kylee
twins: Cascidy and Clayre
Magdalene
McKenna
twins: Owen and Colin
Abaigeal

none of those are typos.

What is the point of butchering Cassidy, Claire and Abigail?

I sort of like Brendan. I like Abigail and Cassidy, but my god not those spellings. Abaigeal...there isn't much about that spelling that would make me want to say it like Abigail.

My computer freezes a lot, so I was stuck on the first part of your post with Brendan and Lauren, thinking it wasn't too bad. Then I got to scroll down...

The last one makes me want to say Ah-BAY-ghee-all. Horrifying.

Cascidy and Clayre... wow. Kylee and McKenna I can deal with, but dislike. Abaigeal is actually a Gaelicization of Abigail, but I have a feeling that they didn't know that and thought they were spelling it uniquely. But the rest are all nice. It's really nice to see Magdalene.

They started out so well and then...*headdesk*

I like
Brendan
Lauren
Magdalene
Owen
Colin

The rest look like they let the toddlers pick the names and spell them...

cascidy, which i would want to pronounce "cashidy" sounds like someone with a speech impediment trying to say cassidy.

abaigeal? how is that even pronounced the same way as abigail? it looks like it should be "ah-bye-gee-uhl" which is effing ugly.

clayre? there are no words.

WTF is the point people? seriously? what is the point of the intentional misspellings? i do not get it. it doesnt make your child cute or unique or beautiful. it makes you look illiterate and reflects on the child as well, sadly.

Bizarre. They didn't even start off with normal names and then go crazy. It's just a bunch of weird spellings mixed in with normal ones. Maybe the parents alternated on who got to name the kid? :-\

Magdalene and Clayre should never be in the same sibset. Ever. Dear lord.

Abaigeal is the original Irish spelling of Abigail. It's the only variation I'd use (if for some reason I was forced to change the spelling). So it's not kry8tv.

The other names are stupid.
