name suggestions

Thanks to everyone who replied to my Lily post now I have a new question!
I've tried asking for name suggestions before but not quite as simply so people didnt really answer my question last time (not the post about lily, but a diff post) so I figured I'd try again:

Me and my SO tend to like shorter names. Prob. because my own name is really short (Tara). and my SO is named Steve on his birth certificate and so he likes that its not short for anything offical. He isn't a Stephen or Steven who just goes by Steve, he is JUST Steve.
So basically the only 2 boys names that BOTH of us like are Leo and James. Just Leo, not Leonardo or Leonard or anything because we dont like either of the full names. And James's sorta nickname would be Jamie if we called him anything else besides James.

I would like some suggestions for other boy names that you think kinda fit with those 2, or the style of james/leo. They don't have to be really short though.

As a side note, I also like the name Jude and Nikolai for a boy.
For girls I/we like: Tessa/Tess and Avery, I like Athena, Scarlet, Juliet and Audrey as well.

I was going to suggest Jude! We seem to like very similar names -- I have Lily, Jude, James nn Jamie, Leo, and Juliet all on my list :)

In general Max, Luke, Paul, Nathan, John, Cole and can be nice names. But I couldn't use them because I know people with those names and most were people from hs and they are not nice people. Not that my child named that would be that way obviously lol but it still feels weird to have a name that reminds me of someone not nice. I don't really like Elijah/Elias, Marcus, Joel, Jacob or Samuel .

I like Adrian but don't think the SO would like it. He Might like Theo and Jack which I do like though!

I just wanted to say I like ALL your girl names :D
For boys, Leo is actually one of the few names that I think can stand well on their own and not be bound to a longer version, like Max.
Another short name I like is Ryan

I feel the same about Leo and Max as well.
Ryan is a really nice name but I would feel weird using it. My best friend's long term ex who is a reallly nice guy, is named that though, AND my best friend has always wanted to use that name so I almost feel like I'm stealing it haha. I'll keep it on the list but we'll see :)
