I like both of them, and I don't consider them very comparable because Aubrey is a boy's name. Audrey is dark, alluring, and silver, and Aubrey is gentle, kind, light, and archer-y.
For being a "boy's name", Aubrey is fairly high on the girl side of top 1000 baby names list. 42, right now, actually. And it hasn't ranked on the boy's side since 2002. So, I think the public has decided it's at least unisex.
I looooove Audrey. I really want to use it as a first name but my husband doesn't like it enough for that, so it's been slotted as a middle name for us, in the name Carys Audrey. I am not a fan of Aubrey, though.
I love Audrey. And I used to detest Aubrey, but now I actually kind of like it--and yes, for a girl, not the original masculine use. Aaaggghhh I don't know why!
