THIS. This was my fave name in 7th grade because a little girl that lives across the street from me is named that and I had never heard it before. LOL.
I used to want Aidan, and still do if I wind up with two boys. But I realllly am in lovelovelove with Gabriel. Also, I always thought I'd name my little girl Olivia but my husband hates it so we've settled on Harleigh for a girl.
I used to like the names Jack, Chris and Ronnie but then dated guys with those names so I hate them now. lol
When I was a kid I liked names I think are really stupid now like Casper and Jessamine. I was also obsessed with the name Jennifer and demanded that I be called Jennifer because I hated my name that people can't spell or pronounce and got made fun of for(Mariah)
ok... yes I will admit to it.. I wanted to name a daughter of mine Leeloo... yes, I did and now I am glad to be a little older and think 'what the f... was I thinking?'
I also liked Chandler for a boy and also, Hamlet... I don't lol at Chandler but it will forever be that guy from Friends and well Hamlet is still awesome but anyone that knows Shakespeare knows that that would be such a sad thing to do to a child xD *still has it on the guilty pleasure list*
I loved Justin and Peter when I was in 2nd grade. I couldn't imagine using them now though, even though neither are awful.
And then I liked Geoffrey. I discovered Geoff from Tony Hawk 64 and loving Geoff Rowley... and then I worked at Toys R Us and Geoffrey the giraffe.. I don't even really love how it sounds, I really just like how Geoff looks.
I still sort of like Liam, but that already seems kind of dated to me and I couldn't imagine still liking it even 4 years from now.
I don't think there were any girls names I can't stand. I chose Elisa Rebecca and Catherine Danielle when I was in 1st grade, and neither of those are really bad. I kind of wish I loved some really terrible things.. maybe I did and I just chose to erase them from my memory upon realizing how awful they were.
I'm the same way with Geoffrey. I like the way it looks, but I don't like the sound, and I absolutely loathe Jeffery/Jeffrey. Plus, I knew a guy in eighth grade with that name and our classmates thought it was soooooo funny to call him "Gee-off," so, yeah, that name's definitely not in the running for me.
Peyton. Haha. Two years ago, it was definitely in my top 5. I don't really hate it now, but I definitely don't like it anymore either. It has become boring and trendy.
hmm i can't think of many... I liked Ocianna, which I think I made up... pronouned Oh-shi-anna. I also liked Heather for a while. I went through a place name thing where I wanted to name all my kids places, like Montana, Canyon, Rome, Paris, Dallas (which is still a guilt pleasure name)
When I was a young'un (12-ish?) I made a list of names I liked, and while I can't remember too many of them now, I do remember thinking that kre8iv spellings were awesome. Why name your kid Jenny when she could be Dzheni? Maybe a silent 7 would be cool. Dz7eni. Yeah!
I also used to take common names and change one letter or syllable to make them ~*unique*~. The only one I can think of right now is Trista from Christa. I think that one is the least offensive to my current sensibilities.
Needless to say, I'm glad I've held off on having a child for these 16 years (and counting).
When I was little I really liked the names Kelly & Stephanie. Not anymore. I used to really like the name Ava too, before I learned it was ~trendy~ a couple of years ago. Oh! And I used to like the names Starla & Destina, hahah. And Jasmine. eugh

Date: 2009-12-27 01:44 am (UTC)Quinn (m). My number one boys name used to be Cameron.
I don't hate these names now, it's just that they either became popular or I don't think they would "fit" [my child] very well.
