Nice Names For A Change

Some Facebook friends who I think have the "classiest" and "most traditional" names, all young 20's. I saw a photo with Katherine, Miriam, and Alma and for the first time was struck by how old, but refreshing, they sounded together. Then I decided to compile a list of other names I felt were equally classic from my other friends. I like them all - what do you think?

I like them all too, more or less. My favorites amongst them are Katherine, Alice, Juliet, Ruth, Sarah, Thomas, and Elizabeth. I've been coming around more on Miriam and Nigel, too.

I don't know if I'd consider Laurel timeless or classic, specifically. Laura maybe, but Laurel seems a bit odd. Rebecca is definitely of 80 popularity to me. Nigel is super British and possibly aristocratic. Ruth will never strike me as an attractive name and I cannot fathom why any parent would want to bestow such a hideous syllable on their child. Juliet, I absolutely ADORE, but I'm going to group it together with Laurel, a bit too off-beat and alternative, I'd give timeless and classic to Julia. Alma is a little uncommon and not my favorite but ok. The rest I like very much and agree with you on!

My favorites are Katherine (though I prefer it spelled Kathryn, for family reasons), Alma, Alice, Juliet, Laurel, Sarah, and Elizabeth.

To be completely honest, I don't like ANY of these names. MAYBE Laurel, but the others are way too plain (and my name IS Elizabeth). They're just past their prime, in my humble opinion.
