[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/-rally/ posting in [community profile] babynames
I am expecting a baby boy in April 2010. Having a baby is scary...but what I think is the scariest part of it all, is naming the baby. I thought about names even before I was pregnant, and I never had "favorites". My fiance didn't even want to think about names until we found out if is a boy or girl. Well since we know...he is helping out more.

The night we found out we have a little boy on our hands, he searched czech names (he is part czech) & dutch names (i am part dutch). He come up with some ridiculous names. But he said one...that we both really like. Isaac. But we found a different spellings of the name. I like Izaac and he likes Izaak. What do you think about the spellings? Does the 'z' make sense?
I really want the 'z' in there some place a) because he has a 7 year old son named Blaize & I like that they both have 'z's and b) his last name is Muzik (pronuced just like music) & again I am fond of the 'z'.

But is it too much? Izaak Muzik (i really dont like it both ending in 'k') or Izaac Muzik? And do you feel Izaac Muzik sounds good as a whole name? Muzik, is a really hard last name. Everyone is like its the coolest last name ever, and is giving us silly names like Lyric and Melody (hahaha) but its really tricky!!

Also I need some help on middle names. I love Izaac James Muzik. He hates it.
We have tried Izaac Benjamin which i kinda like and Izaac Thaddeus which is out there but i love it. Throw some middle names out there....we have tried family names but none works.

Any help I would really appreciate!!! Thank you!!!

I tend to agree with previous posters...Izaak or Isaac both are too rhymey with Muzik. My husband has a rhymey kind of name (think Rhys Ross) and it's very confusing for people. He has to repeat his name a lot, and it incurs a lot of snickers.

Have you thought about other names that have a Z in them but that don't end in a "k" sound? Then they'd be less rhymey.

Ezra Muzik
Zakary/Zachary Muzik
Denzel Muzik
Laszlo/Lazlo Muzik

Or perhaps an X that has a Z sound, like
Xavier Muzik
Alexander Muzik
