A lady that works at the spa I go to had her baby a couple weeks ago. He is joining his older twin sisters Matilda and Olive (both of which I think are cute names!)

She named him William Robert.

When hearing this, I must have seemed confused because she loves wacky/unique names and it surprised me that she went with something common. One of the other ladies who works there told me that William Robert will be referred to as Billy Bob.

Matilda and Olive are fabulous names for twins.

I agree. I love Matilda and Olive. Love them even more together. William Robert is classic sounding. Billy Bob is ugh. She had a good thing going before that.

I think William Robert is a wonderful name and goes well with Matilda and Olive. Neither of which are wacky or particularly unique, so I don't think William is unexpected, really.

William Robert was Billy Bob Thornton's real name, I am fairly sure. Yeah, that doesn't make it better, but it means it's been done. And it's not the worst thing ever.

I'm not a fan of Matilda, at all. I completely love and adore Olive, it was my favourite for so long.

Sibling set mismatches make me nuts! I also have several cousins on my wasp side named Billy Bob, which made me not a fan of that particular nickname.

Matilda and Olive are very cute. William Robert sounds good, but not when shortened to Billy Bob. Ughhh.

Love Matilda and Olive. On my list for another baby but surely will be shot down by my husband. William is a nice name too, but I don't love it with Robert. I am not even going to address the Billy Bob nickname. I think the namer ran into the same problem I have, which is that it's hard to pick boy names! They are either very very traditional and a little dull (like William) or extremely trendy (think Bryson or Keegan). There are a few gems lurking though. If my first two were Matilda and Olive, I'd consider these for a boy:

Emmett
Everett
Lyle
Henry
Walter
Edwin
Arthur

All of which I like better with the sibset than William.
