(no subject)

it was interesting the other day to find on facebook that an old friend from highschool has 3 nephews, named:

JORDYN
JAXYN
KADYN

i think jaxyn is particularly.. well, tacky. and the "yn" endings? wow.
what do you guys think?

also, my baby boy name is chosen!
elliott (or elliot) james. elliot (or elliott) because we like it and james because throughout the pregnancy fiance and i have referred to him as "jimmy." which spelling do you guys like better? elliott is a reference to elliott smith and elliot is a reference to kurt vonnegut if you want spelling distinction "reasons," as it were. heh.

I like Elliott better.

elliott. (i associate elliott with a boy and elliot for a girl for some reason.)

the name sounds very nice!

Due to Elliott Smith, any other spelling of Elliott looks incomplete to me. It's awful because I live near an Eliot Street and it drives me crazy.

Also: I have Elliott James on my list! That spelling for the same reason :P

Elliott James is my fave.

those J's are horrible :(

it took me a minute to realize jaxyn = jackson. lol

i like elliott better just because that's how my best friend spells his name.

I think Elliot looks much nicer. Elliott is too tall.

Elliott FTW! I love Elliott Smith, and Elliot just looks unbalanced to me.

I prefer Elliot. That second t on the end always looks like one too many to me.

I cannot fathom why some people use -yn on boy names. The whole point of -yn is to make a name FEMININE. You might as well name your son Annette.

I think Elliot(t) James is wonderful. Elliott is one of those names that is distinctive, yet familiar, that perfect middle ground. I also just happen to like it. My slightly preferred spelling is two T's, it looks more complete, but one T is also acceptable. Congratulations on working your way through the Choosing a Name Labyrinth!

I like the Elliott spelling! Elliott has been one of my favorite boy's names forever. If I ever have a son his name will be Jason Elliott.

Love Elliott!! Great name. It totally walks that line of not-too-common but still recognizable.
