To go with

My husband and I don't plan on having kids for a few more years - but we all know thinking of names for the future is fun. We both know what we want to name our first son and our first daughter. It's the names that we might need after that point that is the puzzle. We both like various name, just nothing has the THAT'S IT! vibe like the first two name sets have.

Our son will be Gideon Richard. Our daughter will be Astrid June.

I was notcing that both names have six letters in the first name; would it be cheesy or even odd if all the names we use have six letters? I like little common threads like that between names. Also they both have the the letters "id" in them; can you think of any other names that contain "id" as well?

Right now we are thinking either two or three kids. He is more for two - bit in alot of his dreams (he's has really detailed and almost freaking dreams) we have three. So who knows! :-)

If we just have two and a boy and a girl everything above is a mute point LOL.

Some names I like - do any of them sound nice with Gideon & Astrid?

Ian
Ambrose
Lawrence
Avery
Teagan

Marian
Fiona
Noelle
Elaine
Miranda

The middle names will most likely be family names and I have a lot to pick from, so that part of it I'm not worried over.

I love Astrid June!

I think Fiona goes great with the names you mentioned, and so does Teagan. :)

I vote Fiona & Ambrose (I know an Ambrose, nn 'Brose, which works). and I LOVE Gideon but would never be brave enough to use it, so go you guys! :D

Astrid is beautiful. As a bit more of an exotic alternative to Fiona I vote Fiyana (fee-ahh-nu) I think it's gorgeous, i recently met someone with the name, i'd never heard it before.

I don't think it's odd at all. DH and I both have 3 letter first names, and our kids have 4 letter first names (well, E's nickname is 4 letters) but if we had another girl I want to name her Margaret and call her Molly, and that 5 letter thing is tripping me up.

'id' names:

Brigid/Bridget/Bridgette
Ingrid
Ida
Sidney
Adelaide
Cassidy
Heidi

David
Reid
Caiden
Guido
Rider

None of these are favourites or special to me, just suggestions. You can bash if you feel the need to. ;)
