I think Melodie (with an accent on the first e) is the French spelling, and I seem to recall the family having a French surname.

I've actually always liked your name, although I love Melanie too.

well thank you :) my mom has specifically loved the name Melody since she was a kid, she always thought Melanie was the 'lazy' version of Melody.. then she happened to marry a musician, so she got her wish of Melody, lol.

The french version sounds cute though, not exactly like "MEL-O-D" more soft and cute... not too bad :)
