also: heard the name indira today. what are your thoughts?

Poppy and Duke are cute. I would use them on dogs for sure. Probably not on my own kids but I would admire someone who had the chutzpah to do so, especially in combination with a more traditional middle name.

Indira reminds me of Indira Gandhi, so that's a good or bad association depending on your perspective. The name itself sounds pretty in English but I don't know how it sounds in Hindi (i.e. if it's an outdated name or if it sounds modern).

Poppy & Duke made me lol because it reminds me of poopy and dookie. Seriously, I'm still laughing.

Poppy kind of reminds me of a cat. I think it might be cute on a child (toddler), but not on an adult.
I absolutely loathe the name Duke; I think it's -so- ugly (even for a dog, which all I can imagine it on).
Indira isn't horrible, but I don't really like it either.

I really like the name Indira! It's on my guilty pleasures list. I'm not really a fan of Poppy and Duke. Poppy always makes me think of what a little kid would call their grandfather - not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but not what you want to associate with your daughter's name! - and Duke is just horrible, imo.
