WDYT of Cedar?

I met two people named Cedar in the past year, one of whom is female and the other is male. I had never heard this as a name before, let alone a unisex name.

I guess it could be okay for other people, but it would never work for me or anyone who lives/grew up living near me, because there's a town close by called Cedar Springs that everybody calls Cedar, so the name would automatically make most people think of that.

I would think of the tree. There's also a place around here called Cedar Beach (which is really just a park) so I would also think of that. I try to have as open a mind as possible with names, so I think that maybe in certain situations it might be okay as a middle name, but for me it would not work.

I've heard of it in that I've seen it in baby name books (under the Nature Names section). I've certainly never met anyone with the name. I kind of like it, in a wild-and-wooly way-out-there kind of way. I mean, is it that different from Holly or Ash, at the end of the day? But it's not one I would use myself.

Meh, it could be worse. I don't particularly like it.

I don't like it. Growing up we had a cedar closet that we always played in, so I immediately think of that.

It's an okay name just not something I'd ever consider using.

I actually like it! For a male probably.

I don't think I'd ever use this as a name, but it sounds more masculine to me.
