Valentina May and some other stuff...
Nov. 11th, 2009 07:09 pmAs you all probably know, my number one girls name is Valentina. From my last post about it, I've gathered that some love it, some hate it, and some never heard it before/didn't know it was even a name, and aren't nuts about it. Anyway, if I were ever going to use it, I'd like to use May for the middle name, since that was my grandmother's name. Any thoughts? any other middle names for Valentina? I really like Valentina May but I'm curious about some other middle names.
number one boy's name- Nathaniel Eric. (Eric is my dad's mn)
I like all nickname possibilities for these names. Nate, Tina, Val, etc. They are all alright with me. Also, it's worth a mention that both names sound good with our last name. but we are not having kids anytime soon. It's just fun to select names. It's something I've been doing since I was a kid. I remember the first name I got hooked on when I was like 5 years old in 1985 was Amy Lynn. I swore up and down that I would have a child by this name. LOL.

Date: 2009-11-12 12:42 am (UTC)Nathaniel Eric is just meh. I'm not really a fan of either name, but they're common enough you can't really go wrong. I'd like Nat or Niel as nns better than Nate, but Nate's alright.
Amy is cute, but Amy Lynn is pretty dated. Ah, the names we want to use when we're little! I think my first one was Samantha when I was in like 3rd grade. Blech. And for a boy I think it was Stephen. Heh.

Date: 2009-11-12 01:43 am (UTC)Nat or Niel would be fine nicknames for Nathaniel, too. never thought of those.
I wouldn't choose one. I'd use the whole first name, but if the child wanted a certain one, or if other people called them that, I'd be fine with it.
My name is Melissa. No one called me anything but until high school, where a few people called me Mel or Missy. I don't mind either but I don't introduce myself as such

Date: 2009-11-12 01:59 am (UTC)She was born in Sweden, so her "real" name was Maj-Britt. I think there were some accent marks somewhere on there, but I am not sure. When she came over, she changed it to May. This sounds goofy, but she named everything (even her plants) and she always used May for the middle name. Her cat was Ivy May. She did this to be goofy, but in all seriousness I know she would be very happy about me using May.

The first time I picked out names was in third grade. Samantha Sarah and Tabitha Ashley. First names from Bewitched and middle names my two best friends.

Date: 2009-11-12 02:05 am (UTC)Someone on another board suggested Valy for Valentina.
if I absolutely had to select just one I'd go with plain Val.
Teeny is sort of cute though, esp. for a baby nn.
