i dont like how either of those are spelt, i prefer leilani and leila but thats different prounonciations though. but both of them are cute names(your set). its just not my thing to have such similiar names.

yep. Leilani is Hawaiian. I have a friend with this name. Of course, she is 100% Hawaiian. I prefer Lila. Lyla reminds me of Lyle, which I don't like due to associations.
Leilani was almost my daughter's name. Lyla I don't like. Really don't like Y. And as a set? Horrible. Just because they are WAY too similar. I hate that.
One of my good friends named her daughter Lelanie (leh-lan-ee). Her family is Mexican and some of them were teasing her that they would call her the little Denali (aka a GMC car).
