[identity profile] after-the-ashes.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
So, no new children in near our future, but the hubs and I were talking and we can't really think of any names we particularly like. Wanna help us out?

We have two girls, Cressa May Henri (like on-ree, French) and Cora Rosemary Noreen. The first is from a previous marriage. If we had had a boy, his name would've been Henry Isaac Andrew. Now I don't think I'd go for Henry, since it's too popular. I still love Isaac, but not sure the hubs really likes it and the nn Zack would drive me nuts. My husband likes short, strong, germanic names and I'd like the first name to be Greek, since Cressa is a form of a Greek name, Cressida and Cora is also Greek. Not necessary, though. And maybe keep the "C" thing going, but maybe that would just be lame.

Other names I sorta like, but not enough, are:
Adele (love the nn Della)
Delphine (same nn)
Amelia
Ramona (love the nn Romy)
Thessaly
Norah
Diana
Elise
Natalie

Boys are harder, kinda like:
Oliver
Evander
Mikiah (made up, don't like Micah, love nn Kai)
Remy

We need something a bit atypical and strong and a completely new list, since these are all my loves that have been vetoed. Thanks!

Wow I have never heard Zack as a nickname for Isaac, only Ike.

Love Adele and Delphine with your other two girls' names.

For the boys, I like Oliver and Evander. Mikiah sounds quite feminine to me, along the lines of Mariah. What about Malachi? That gives you the Kai sound to work with. Lots of accepted spellings too (Malaki, Malakai, etc) if you don't like the look of -chi.

I second the Malachi suggestion. I have a friend who has a son named Malachi, but he is almost solely referred to as Kai.

I think Makiah is such an awesome name, even if you made it up!

I kind of like Amelia. I like Oliver and Remy.
Mikiah sounds like a girls' name to me.
