I was channel surfing the other day when I stopped briefly on Nickelodeon, which was airing a trivia game show for kids. One of the contestants was a girl who looked about 8 or 9 years old, and her name was: Sabyr. I think the host pronounced it just like 'saber.' I have a hard time picturing this on a little girl, but I do think it would work as the name of a fantasy or sci-fi heroine.

WDYT? And also, any insight as to whether this is a well-established name? I had never heard of it, and some baby name websites say it's a French male name, but...I'll take the word of real people over websites that are sometimes wrong. :)
