Tonight an old acquaintance friended me on Facebook and I thought I'd go through his friends-list, because he hangs out with the preppy, up-town kids from Florence, Italy.
And up-town people in Italy have a tendency to carry very peculiar names that are often passed down through generations from ex-royal relatives. They also often have a double first name (as well as a double last name, although infrequently both at the same time)
So here are the most interesting, have fun!

BTW I just met a guy named Michele. (Mi-Kay-Lay) Forgive me if this is not exactly how it's spelled or pronounced but it's something like that. His mother was from Italy. When I first saw it I got super confused because here in America that would be a girl's name- Michele (MISH-ELLE). I thought she was nuts for a moment.

It definitely sounds to me like they're saying fah-bee-OH-lah or even elliding all the way to fah-BYOH-lah. But then I know from experience that accented syllables vary in English regions, so it's possible in Italian.
