Marissa.

Some days I LOVE this name, other days I really don't like it at all.

How do you like it?

i don't like it. i don't know..the image i get of a girl named marissa is not a good one :\

[identity profile] secret-x-stars.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
it makes me think of harissa, which is some sort of hot sauce.

i don't like it even besides that.

I like it, but it's because it's my cousins name and she's adorable. I can't sait unbiasedly.

It's OK to me but I think Melissa is prettier. :)

I associate the name w ith a really stuck up person.. so i say thumbs down.

I am always torn about that name as well.

one thing that is tough is a nn - i knew a girl who went by "Reesa", which is odd, and "Mari" just seems like a cop-out from such a pretty name.

I'd have to agree that I prefer Melissa like the above poster, but Marissa has its merits

It reminds me of the OC, and the character with that name. I don't hate it, but I wouldn't name a child that.

I don't tend to like -issa names anyway, but I know a woman named Marissa who is the bossiest know-it-all two-faced snot. Can't stand her and can no longer stand the name.

I kind of like the way it looks, but I dont like the way it sounds.

I completely agree with you!!

I didn't like it until I met a girl with that name. She is so sweet and now I associate the name with good things.

[identity profile] krosp.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 12:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It was my favourite name when I was 5, I wrote endless stories about a baby called Marissa, and got my parents pretty sick of the name. I don't have much of an opinion of it one way or the other now though

Love it.

[identity profile] sotypical42483.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
LOVE it. It's on my short list!

[identity profile] glitterberrys.livejournal.com 2006-06-27 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I like it.
I liked it a lot more before The OC existed, though.

I don't like it. Whenever I hear it, I just think of some really whiny person (marista = to whine in Finnish). Plus I think there's an actress that has that name that I don't like either, so there you go.

I've never liked that name.
