I really like the name Eva but I think it's too short. So I'm looking for a longer version that would use Eva as a nickname. The only one I can think of is Evalyn which I'm not a huge fan of.

Any ideas?

evelyn.

i have said this before and i will say it again. name your baby a name you like. dont try to fit your childs name around a nick name you like because they will have to live with that FULL name) that you may be MEH about) their whole life. if you like eva name her eva.

or you may also be dissapointed in the future when she no longer wants to be called a nick name and go by a full name you didnt really think about.

Evanna
Evita
Yvette

I think Eva works fine on its own, though.

I knew a Genevieve who went by Evie, so Eva wouldn't be too far of a stretch

I'm going to agree with everyone- Evangeline, or Evangelina. I like either. (I also love plain Eve or Eva as well)

I love both Eva and Eve just on their own.
I was also going to suggest Genevieve or Annevieva, but I'm not really fond of either of them. I like Evelyn ok, and Evangeline is cute. Just Eva is still my favorite. :)

Maybe pair with with a middle name/second first name, like Mary Jane, and then technically Eva can still be a nickname? Like, Eva Jane, Eva Lisette, Eva Maribel, Eva Maeve, Eva Pearl, Eva Josette, Eva Rose, Eva Marie, Eva Louse(a), etc. etc.?

Evanna
Evanie
Evania
Evangeline

Pairing sounds really good (love love love Eva Jane), but Eva works fine on its own. It's currently my favourite name.

I agree, I see it a lot around here. My daughter's preschool class has three girls that go by their first-middle combination:

Isabella Sophia (yeah, it's a mouthful!)
Anna Paige
Hayley Rose

Even my own grandmother goes by the first-middle Mary Ellen. I think Eva is a lovely name on its own and sounds great with a one-syllable middle.

My first thought was Evangeline. Geneva might also work.

Other suggestions -

Eveliese/Evaliese
Evolet
Evely (sounds like Emily with a v - my great aunt's name...but hers is spelled Evil Lee LOL)
