I'd like to introduce you to the newest light of my life, Aviva Esther. She was born on the first day of Summer, June 21st, just as the sun was coming up at 6:26 AM, safely into her father's arms. Her sister, aided by her father, helped cut the cord and weighed her--9 pounds, 2 ounces. The unusual thing about Miss Aviva is that her due date wasn't until the first week of August--or so we thought. We think the dates were confused, which would make perfect sense because I haven't had a regular period in 3 years. Aviva's name was another surprise--we had already eliminated Aviva from the list, and Esther was never one we had considered, but she is definitely all Aviva. Aviva is very alert and a fabulous nurser. We all adore her.

Have you ever seen the movie Palindromes? It's really amazing, one of my favorite movies. The main character is named Aviva.

That's kinda where we got it from. Or, well, where I got it from. My husband thinks I got it out of the baby name book. *maniacal laughter*

Yeah, that's the only other place I've heard the name. It has a pretty sound to it, and is, of course, a Palindrome. ;)

Aviva totally made me think of that movie. lol

What a lovely story about how your daughter entered the world. How did you decide to name her Aviva if you had already ruled it out? This is very interesting to me... I always hear people say that they chose this name and then it didn't suit the baby so they picked this other one etc.. but I can't imagine how that happens and how the parents finally agree if they hadn't agreed on a name for the past 9 months :p so yeah it'd be interesting to hear how her name was chosen =) and congratulations

yeah, I wonder about that too. how do you know what name will suit a kid when they are born? Hmmmm I think I'm going to post on this...

Isnt it weird how babies seem to almost choose their own name when they're born... what had you thought she was going to be? I do remember your list, some very unusual & pretty names but Aviva was actually my favourite!
