What do you think of Marseille, for a girl? As in the French city. Too Mercedes-esque? Too tricky for people to pronounce?

Although it has a nice sound and a very classy vibe, I can't say I recommend it. I think it will get constantly mistaken for Marcy when heard, and mispronounced as Mar-sell when seen. I don't think she'd thank you for making her correct people on a daily basis all her life.

I like it, but I speak French, so.. : / although people may butcher it, I wouldn't let that totally deter you. Pretty middle name, perhaps?

I wanted to use Monet as a middle name for a girl. Husband wouldn't have it:( I like the idea of an interesting french name as a middle name. I only took a class of french, but I'd love to actually learn the language completely.

Also, I wouldn't let potential name butchering stop you from a unique name. My name is Lorien, and though I have to correct people on a daily basis I have never regretted having a unique name. I love it!

I suggested Marseille to my SO and he vetoed it, even as a middle name. It's ok though, he wants Brock as a first name for a boy and I had to veto that one. Fair's fair ;)
